MFA Intro to Falconry Workshop, Oct. 17
The Minnesota Falconers Association is proud to host its first Introduction to Falconry Workshop, a full day dedicated to exploring one of the world's oldest and most captivating hunting traditions.
Whether you've been curious about falconry for years, actively considering pursuing an apprenticeship, or just learned it exists, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the sport and connect with experienced falconers and learn how to get started.
Spend the day with MFA members as we cover everything you need to know to get started in falconry, including:
How to become a falconer
Raptor natural history and behavior
Training and handling
Care and management
Falconry equipment
This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in falconry — no prior experience necessary. Come ready to learn and ask questions.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 17th. Lunch will be provided.
This event is for ages 14+. Participants under 18 must have a registered adult in attendance

There is a registration fee of $50 for the workshop. Those who sign-up as a MFA member before the workshop will receive the cost of an associate membership back at the event ($20).
Space is limited, cancellations will receive a refund up until September 15.
Spend a day with members of the club to learn about this fascinating hunting sport, to see if you are ready to start your own falconry journey. You'll learn about the regulations of the sport, housing and captive care needs of various raptor species commonly flown, as well as training techniques and background information about raptor natural history and behavior.
